August 18 – Day 738

Joyce had a great day. Joyce had her speech and occupational therapy and she did well with doing that. I got to the therapy as Justina was bringing Joyce out. I have to call and make sure they are giving her 45 minutes for each therapy session and not combing them. Her night was good she had no issues at all during the night and she took a little nap when she came home from therapy.

August 17 – Day 737

Joyce had a great day. She did all her exercise in home since she had no out patient therapy scheduled. When Wendy came in the afternoon she said she took a long nap. We relaxed the rest of the evening until bedtime and Joyce slept well with no issues to report at this time. The new splint is working great to help with Joyce’s finger. Interviewed another girl tonight she seemed what we are looking for so we shall see if she has the personality to work well with Joyce.

August 16 – Day 736

Joyce had a great day. She did all her exercises and she had her speech and occupational therapy to day Joyce was a little tired during speech but was alert for occupational and Joyce did very well. Wendy said she slept after therapy and she slept till bedtime with no issues. She slept through the night with no coughing episodes at all.

August 15 – Day 735

Joyce had a great day. She did all her exercises and Wendy trained a new girl and she did great. Joyce was in such a great mood when I got home she told me she was watching TV. A little coughing through the night but no issues to keep her up. No therapy today but tomorrow she has speech and occupational. Have to get a different size splint for her finger the one they gave her is to small she developed a little blister but that will be a easy fix.

August 14 – Day 734

Joyce had a great weekend. Joyce’s weekend went pretty well with no issues to report. She rested well on Sunday and watched TV and laughed at the comedies on Saturday. Her exercises continue daily which keeps her range of motion. Her neurologist called and she will be doing the Botox treatment in her feet to help her get those heels down on the floor. She had a little restlessness last night with coughing but went to sleep right after but she was wide awake at 530 for her water.

August 11 – Day 731

Joyce had a great day. She was with Justina in the morning and with Wendy in the afternoon. The new splint for her finger is working very well. No therapy today but still doing her exercises. Her night was off and on with bouts of coughing but she went right back to sleep. Got a cleaning brush for her peg tube noticed lately it was taking al long time for even water to drain. Cleaned it and working fine probably will do water flush with the syringe and plunger instead of letting gravity drain through the tube.

August 10 – Day 730

Joyce had a great day. Joyce so much more awake today. She had her speech and occupational evaluation so they can start treatment and they seemed very enthusiastic about her therapy. We got another finger splint for her from the hospital and it is the correct kind this time. She took a nap after both her therapies. her night was great and she had no issues at al throughout the night.

August 9 – Day 729

Joyce had a great day. Had my caregiver train a new girl so I have more than one if a situation arises. Joyce was very tired and slept all day. She had speech and physical therapy and slept right through it they did the best they could with her. She had a good night with no issues and slept without any coughing episodes. Other than that it was just a peaceful resting day for Joyce.

August 8 – Day 728

Joyce had a great day today. It is now the second anniversary of Joyce’s illness. It was a down day for me but I guess my prayers were answered. because when i went home it was like someone flipped a switch on Joyce. She was smiling and laughing and she was a chatter box until she went to bed. I told her that was the best gift that she could give me today. She did all her exercises had a good speech appointment. her night was good just a little coughing nothing major.
